| Deciding Between A Laser Or An Inkjet Printer |
|
You've purchased and installed your new computer, and now you're wondering what type of printer you should get to go with your system. When you're trying to decide between purchasing an inkjet printer or a laser printer, you should be considering what you're going to be printing, and how many pages you're going to produce. If you're going to be printing a lot of pictures, images, or graphics, you're more likely to consider an inkjet printer. Inkjets print boldly and vividly, and depending on the quality of the inkjet paper that you use, the printed page can be very close to photo quality. And you'll pleased to know that printer ink tends to stretch farther than it used to in older generations of printers. And if you go with name-brand ink products, such as Epson printer cartridges and HP printer cartridges, you're likely to get more pages than you would with most generic brands. Laser printers might be a better choice for you if you intend to print a lot of text, like reports, manuals, and other written material. Laser printers tend to have a lower cost-per-page (CPP), and are real workhorses when it comes to bulk printing. Of course, if your budget allows, you could also consider a color laser printer, which can provide the best of both worlds. Although because of the technology, laser printers can't print on glossy photo paper. Whatever printer you decide to purchase, be sure to do all of your research beforehand to make sure the printer fits your needs--you're certain to be satisfied with your new printer peripheral. |
